Coronavirus is having a worldwide impact on sports - but which football players and managers have tested positive for COVID-19?
Elite football in England has been put on hold until April 4, with several other leagues across Europe also being postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The COVID-19 disease, which originally broke out in China, has infected more than 167,000 people worldwide and caused over 6,400 deaths.
Here, Express Sport has rounded all of the confirmed cases of the coronavirus in football.
SERIE A
So far, 10 players from Serie A have tested positive for COVID-19. Italy’s top-flight is suspended until April 3, with the whole county in lockdown following the outbreak.
Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani became the first player in the league to contract the virus.
Since then, players from Sampdoria and Fiorentina have also been infected.
Fiorentina has confirmed that German Pezzella, Patrick Cutrone and Dusan Vlahovic have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Sampdoria stars Manolo Gabbiadini, Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonio La Gumina, Morten Thorsby and Fabio Depaoli have also been affected by the outbreak.
Premier League
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, 19, became the first Premier League player to test positive for coronavirus.
The Blues’ full squad has gone into self-isolation but the club says Hudson-Odoi is “doing well”.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta also tested positive for COVID-19 and the club have closed their training facilities while players and staff who had close contact with Arteta self-isolate.
“This is really disappointing,” said the 37-year-old Spaniard.
